The release of the windows 8 computer software has been a surprise to everyone. Clearly microsoft has outdone itself and I'm pretty sure there are going to be many discussions about its new presentation, because now, not only do you have a computer, but you also have a somewhat "smartphone" or tablet included in it. There's a menu with the lumia style, and just like the windows phones you can download, listen to music, watch pictures and movies, organize your calendar, etc...
You also have the desktop and everything you used to have, only this time, the start button doesn't exist since it was replaced by the menu described above, which is still a little strange to me...
From my point of view, it is a great idea and project, although I think it'll cause a lot of conflict.
But I can also say that apart from it being a little strange and new, I've already tried it and it actually really good! Another great thing about this new software is that you can already find a really good computer with the updated software at a really good price and I'm already looking for one !

For all of you who like or have a lumia 610, don't worry !
Your phone will also get the windows 8 update, the only thing you need to do is wait until microsoft send you a message saying that the software is avalibale .
Another great thing about the new software is that the game "Angry Birds" and "Adobe" will finally be available for the nokia lumia 610, which weren't before because of the processor's capability!
Good news for nokia users !

Iphone 5 vs Iphone 4

So , as you all know, the iphone 5 has been released and just like the other iphones, this one had quite some changes comparing to its previous model. first of all, it has the iOS 6.

Until now i haven't quite searched through the whole iphone with thw iOS 6 , but until know, i've noticed that some bugs were fixed, the colors of some of the menus were changes, like the music and the playlist, the camera has also been changed and this time it finally has the Panorama option, which is a GREAT feature from my point of view.

Now, the iphone 5 itself, the main changes are the software, but previous the iphone 4 is also compatible with it... and the famous extra row of apps ! This made the iphone a little bigger than the previous version, although it is also a bit thinner. Tcamera is placed around the same area, but there has been added a metal part to the back, which makes it look more sofisticated, i believe. The last change is in the front camera, becaise now it isn't placed on the side of the speakerphone anymore, it is placed on top of it ! Great iphone! Apple is always spot on!

Not everyone is ok with having such an oversized phone... But, from my point of view, this isn't just another random smartphone... It's a tablet mixed with a phone, for you to enjoy not only the communications but also   office work and entertainment.
This android smartphone has an 8 mp camera with flash led and full HD video recording (another great feature).
In my opinion, the size is actually pretty great.. Sometimes it might not be the most pratical mobile, but the main idea is for it to look like a tablet (and also work like one) but also to have mobile communications, so everyone should take that into consideration, because it truly is a great phone.
I was really impressed with the screen of this android... It has a great touch screen, because of all the amazing drawings people make with it, and also the quality of the screen ( It's a Super HD Amoled screen).
This is my all time favourite phone! I mean , don't get me wrong, I love my Xperia Ray , but if some one gave me this phone I would cherish it for life!
If you likehaving everything in one package this phone was really mean't for you. The battery is also a great aspect of this phone, just like a tablet!

I've recently started searching for good digital cameras... I've found many cameras that have a great sensor like 18 megapixels or even more... But what I was trying to find was a  camera that could both take good pictures and film in Full HD at the same time... The GoPro Hero2 has an 11 megapixel sensor, which makes it a great example, although it is more made for filming rather than to take pictures, in my opinion... 

So, after watching some videos and searching a little I came to find that Canon has made quite a few very good digital cameras for this matter... The IXUS collection!

I'm very pleased to tell you that all these cameras film in a Full HD                                                                                      quality and that the results are very surprising for cameras this size. Although I haven't seen much footage about the picture quality I've seen some of it and it seems like Canon is really improving there digital cameras ! I mean, the quality is brilliant for cameras this small ... 

Here in Portugal they only sell 5 IXUS cameras, but I've heard that there are more versions in the USA, or maybe somewhere else, but you can get different models online of course.

So you all know how much I like Lumias... And I'm so excited that the new nokia Lumia 920 has been released.
Photography nowadays is pretty important in a smartphone, so I was really happy when I heard that the cameras was actually a Pureview camera with 8.7 megapixels and 1080p HD video - GREAT
This new windows phone was also the first one to have te Windows 8 Software! I haven't tried it yet but I can tell by the images it is pretty great.
The main improvement from my point of view was the built-in storage... This time nokia put 32 GB in this phone, so the space isn't a problem anymore for the windows phones, unless you really like to fill your phone       up...
The battery was also improved, but it was already pretty great...

This is my first ever random post, so go easy on me. So, lately I've been into photography and video, as you can tell by reading my blog, and I've noticed that two years ago, to make a good video with good quality you'd need a very expensive camera... Mobile phones shot videos in a really crappy quality (VGA) and even nowadays some still do...

But today, everything has changed! Videoclips are made with mobile cameras ! Digital cameras film in Full HD, and not the expensive kind... Reflex cameras are still winning in video quality and color, but mobile and digital cameras aren't as far behind as they were... This is why I love technology and why I think the world in always evolving !

P.S: I made the video above with my Xperia Ray in the VGA mode... I forgot to put it in HD (720p) lol, but the video quality was reduced when I put it here , sorry!

I once had a nintendo DS, the first one that came out... I remember I was mesmerized with the touch screen and the fact it had a main menu where you could choose to play the game boy game or the ds game... Even the fact that you could change the color was amazing... The games were even better, you had a choice to make, either play with the control buttons or the touch screen. Nintendo made all that possible and until today, has worked to develop this gaming tecnology. And let me tell you that it has suceeded because the NINTENDO 3DS XL isn't just another device to play a random game, it is so much more than that...

It has become into a small nintendo wii (which is also a great invention). The new nintendo 3DS comes with a larger scree, still with the 3D function, a 10h battery life (if playing 2d games), a 4gb micro SD to storage transfered items from the store. You can take pictures, shot videos, draw, edit your pictures and listen to music. You can do basically everything and play great games ! Great device and great gaming !

LG P920 Maximo 3D has changed the world of tecnology. Nowadays it is possible to have a smartphone with all it's functionalities, plus a 3D option where everything is 3D... But not only does the screen turn 3D, the camera also takes pictures n 3D. This smartpihone is another great one with the android platform.It films in FULL HD (1080p) and takes pictures with a 5 megapixel sensor, with a flash led, geo tagging and auto-focus.
Although, this phone comes with a disadvantadge, the battery life is very poor in this mobile, which makes its usage less productive, and it really is a shame because this phone is worth a long lasting battery.

Well, look no further... The GoPro HD has come to the market and it is worth buying. Not only can you shoot videos and take pictures, but you can shoot them in HD (1080p) and take pictures in a quite surprising 11mp camera. Although the it doesn't have a screen to preview the videos, the results are absolutely stunning everytime. 

This camera can come with many acessories, such as a hand grip for you to shoot your adventures, a tripod, an extra battery (just in case), a wrist housing and, most importantly, a waterproof case (100% safe). There are 4 versions of the GoPro: The GoPro Naked hero (for anything), the GoPro Outdoor Edition, the GoPro Motorsport Edition and the GoPro surf edition.

We've all heard about the famous Ipod touch, but we don't know that it's one of the most sold products everywhere. The release of the ipod touch (back in 2007, the 1st generation) totally replaced the PSP due to its great gaming capacity and great processor, and not only gaming but also video and most importantly, music. The ipod was made for listening to music whenever you like and how long you like, but today it has become into a small ipad, where you can listen to music, organise your life, play very good games, watch videos, creat and view documents, read, send/watch e-mails, record, take pictures, shoot videos, surf on the internet, stay connected and update yourself.

The ipod touch was always a great product, since the 1st generation, bur with the release of the next generations it grew quite a lot. In the current generation (4g) you can choose either tha black or white version, it is possible to take pictures with a 5mp camera and shoot videos in HD, you can change your background (that you couldn't do in the previous generations) and you have more applications.

Many people nowadays jailbreak their ipod touch, iphone and ipad, and I got to say that that is the worst decision you can make. 1st of all because the battery life gets so much worst, 2nd because the jailbreak can be badly made, 3rd because it'll make your product slower and 4th because it can damage its software. I would recommend and Ipod Touch, but I wouldn't suggest that you jailbreak it.

Canon has been one of the best brands in the making of not only relex and compact, but also video and waterproff cameras. Although this camera is still an amateur reflex camera, it has great potencial - CANON EOS 650D.
This cameras has been made with 18 megapixels sensor with extraordinary capacity and all the same scenes as the other canons, only this time implanted with an intelengent automatic scene, which will choose the best scene to use at that exact time, place and view. It is the first Canon Reflex camera to have a touch screen, which helps you to zoom in your pictures and even touch where you'd like the focus to be when your taking pictures by the screen. Due to its great capacity, you don't have to be a great photographer to take excelent pictures, the only thing you need is to know how to use it, and the software is made so it isn't hard to use it, which is another awesome feature. If you are a photographer, don't worry, all your pictures will turn out great with this camera!
You have over 60 acessories and lenses to add to this camera and it also shoots films in Full HD (1080p), so not only can you be a great photographer, but you can also be a great movie maker!
With this camera the potencial is truly never ending and you won't regret having one, that I can garantee.

XPERIA U/SOLA

Although Sony Ericsson has been making many new mobile phones with similar designs and the new software, these two where the ones who caught my eye!

Sony has been making excelent phones, with a sophisticated design and a great software to add to... The Anroid Gingerbread implanted in these phones is just like the previous one, only this time more functional and with a better looking design. 

Both of these mobile phones have a 5megapixel camera with Flash Led and auto focus, and they also film in HD 720ps (which is a great feature to it, by the way).

I've heard that the Xperia U is also water resistant, but

I'm not a hundred percent sure. 

Sony has also made these phones with a longer lasting battery life, which is perfect for any smartphone these days.

They both have great screens with 3.7”, 854 x 480 pixels 16,777,216 color TFT. The android software is integrated with good, so you're allowed to have all the google features on your mobile phone.

These are excelent mobile phones and I would truly recommend them.

A great camera is almost essential in a persons life these days, but what if that great cameras can also take great pictures underwater?

Today, I'll talk about 3 excelent waterproff cameras (Fuji FinePix XP-50,Canon PowerShot D20 and Nikon Coolpix AW100) which are perfect for the summer and vacations all around.

All threetake great pictures both underwater and on the surface, which is a great feature to them because it means you can use them all year long, not only in summertime. They all are also shockproff and film in full hd, above and underwater. The nikon camera has gps integrated into it, but for the other 2 cameras there is another version of them with gps also (although I don't think it is necessary, because it only allows you to know where the pictures were taken). I would trully recommend either one of these cameras.

Although symbians' release wasn't one of nokias strongest times, nokia took a risk and bet on windows mobile software for their own brand. From my point of view, they couldn't have made a greater comeback! The windows mobile software is being improved form time to time, which makes it good for new users because the functionalities will always get better, and thats just what a smartphone is all about!

On the right side of the picture, you can see Nokia Lumia 800, which is the 'father' of the collection (apart from the bigger nokia lumia 900, which looks the same as 800, except it has a bigger screen with better resolution and a more lasting battery life). 

The Lumia 800 has the best camera and the most internal storage of the three (8 mp of camera and 16 gb of memory, respectively). Then both the lumia 710 and the 610 have 8 gb of internal storage and a 5 mp camera with flash led ( as well as the 800). 

I would say that the windows phone software is pretty easy to use, as well as a brilliant design, which makes it attractive to people. All three obviously have office features since they are windows phones, where you can see, edit and in some cases creat word,excel,powerpoint and pdf documents.

However, there are still some disadvantages, like not being able to expand the memory, which can be stessful for nokia lumia 710 and 610 users. The battery is average, which doesn't mean it's bad, but you shouldn't expect more than a day and a half of two, maximum.

Nokia Drive, Maps, Xbox live and the Marketplace are also good features that fit these smartphones like a glove. I trully recommend them (Nokia Lumia 800 in particular).

We all know the truly great and well-known mobile brand - BLACKBERRY. Not only because of their elegant and sophisticated design, but also because of their capacities and office management skills. The picture above shows the new collection made by blackberry in order to substitute the previous mobile phones. They created similar phones to the previous ones, only this time, they made improvements, like the screen capacity, the cameras, the applications, the size and the functionalities in general. All these new mobiles have the new Blackberry OS (operative system). There is also a downside to all of this... Consequently form trying to make the mobie phones thinner and smaller the battery capacity had to be reduced, which is probably the only disadvantage to having a blackberry. I've had the chance to try them out and I have to say that the new software is quite satisfying and functional. Keep in mind that if you want to take full advantage of the blackberry's capacities it is almost necessary to have 3g internet.

In order to garantee business security and job maintainance, mobile brands have came up with a plan that, form my point of view, is brilliant and clever, because they give a wider range of choice for consumers, even economicly because the smaller phones obviously cost less. They have planned to make new phones, similar to the great sellers, only this time smaller, cheaper and with less funcionalities, just like what they did with the Samsung Star (Picture bellow: left- Samsung Star; right- Samsung Star mini). We can tell that they have done this for quite a while with the Samsung Star example.

Well, they didn't just do it before ! Recently there are several examples of resizable mobile phones (that I'll show you in the image bellow). Samsung has also done it with the Galaxy collection (picture bellow left side- Samsung Galaxy s2/II and Samsung Galaxy S2/II mini) and Sony Ericsson with their excelent gingerbread androids (picture bellow right side- Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro and Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro mini). All these phones are androids, only diferent androids and they all work perfectly. I would say thar Galxy S2/II is the best phone in the picture, although Xperia pro will certainly do the deed. Xperia pro mini might look like a small, but it is  quite the machine. It does everythig the original Xperia pro does, only the battery life is much weaker, as well as the samsung galaxy s2/II mini.

Sony Ericsson Arc S - This phone contains the Android platform (in this case gingerbread). It has great features, as well as an 8,1 mp camera with flash led and bright colors. Its battery is pretty good and most people are satisfied.

Nokia 808 Pureview - This symbian would also be a good purchase if you're into realistic pictures, social networks and organisation. Its camera claims to have 41 mp, but I'm still not sure if it is true, I'll investigate more.

Nokia n8 - This symbian has a 12 mp camera, along with great office and social networking features. You'd certainly not regret buying it. This is one of the good symbian from my point of view.

iOS - This software designed by Apple, is ideal for people who enjoy having all the functionalities of a mobile phone close by and easy to both use and reach. It is easy to have fun and work at the same time, which makes this software always a good choice. Having a mobile phone with the iOS software can lead you to not need any other phone for a long period of time, which can explain its sucess in the world - REOMMEND

Android - This mobile platform is also very complete, but comparing to the iOS it is probably harder to use, although it contains most of the funcionalities apple has. There are many tipes of Android sotwares which is great because it allows you to choose the one that suits you best - RECOMMEND

Windows Phone - Another great and useful software! Everything is easy to find and the design is beatiful and modern. However, there are still some downsides... Due to the fact that this software is rather recent, there aren't as many apps in the store as there are in iOS ans android... but still a great software and interface - RECOMMEND

Blackberry OS - We've all hear of the great blackberry mobiles, and it seems that from time to time they keep getting better. And they do! As well as the software ! In my opinion Blackberry's are mre for business and office usage, although internet and gaming are still great features of the mobiles. It isn't very to use, so not everyone can have one, but a person who understands about the matter or someone how's willin to lean will eventually get the hang of it - RECOMMEND

Symbian - Although the design is quite nice and it being pretty easy to use, the app store is lacking in good applications and omparing to nokias windows phones, in my opinion this is a step back... A good thing about nokia is that hey make many phones in a short period, so if a certain software doesn't sell, another idea will certainly do the deed. These phone have really good durability also and the cameras are usually very good. E-mail and networking are also easy to configure - IT DEPENDS

Bada - This software was developed by samsung, and, unfortunately I don't have many positive aspects to say about it, besides that all of the devices that contain this software have wi-fi , and some of them 3g internet. The design is quite nice and the cameras are too in some cases, but the app store isn't good ans samsung has done a lot better with the android devices they have made, in my opinion - DON'T RECOMMEND
